ARPITA MEHTA DESIGNS

Designer Arpita Mehta’s “Starlight Collection” was inspired by her grandmother’s love for vintage cocktail dresses and Indian opulence. The fabrics she chose to create the collection consisted of tabi silk, nets, raw silk and flat chiffons. A special embroidery called “button flower,” which has 3D threadwork flowers appliquéd over mirror flowers, were used as embellishments for the ensemble. Foil and other mirrored work was used for her creations as well.
